The First Conditional


     The first conditional describes a particular situation and its probable result in the present or future. These sentences are based on a fact in real time.

Structure


If + Simple Present + Will + Infinitive

  (If Clause  +   Main Clause)

Examples

- If I wake up early, I'll take the bus on time.

- If the weather is nice, we will go for a walk.

Tips


1. One common mistake. when we made a sentence with first conditional is to put will in the conditional clause. The conditional clause must remain in the simple present tense.
              Incorrect: Sam won't go to the dance unless you will ask him.
              Correct: Sam won't go to the dance unless you ask him.
